Do you sometimes think, “If only I had the motivation to try harder?”
Do you feel stuck or that you aren’t good enough?
Are you disappointed that you haven't achieved life goals?
Are you frustrated most days?
Do you have moments of extreme sadness or despair?
Are there times when you feel like your thoughts are spinning?
Is your relationship suffering?
Have you lost that spark with your partner?
Do you want to improve your communication with your partner?
Are you uncertain how to handle your child's behaviors?
Is your child having difficulty in school?
Setbacks in life can take us off course, block our path, and constrict our capacity to find fulfillment and experience joy. While each of us goes through ups and downs throughout our lifetime, when challenges begin to erode life satisfaction, it is time to take a hard look at the things getting in the way.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I have a passion for working alongside individuals who are experiencing painful life circumstances. I have seen that life transformation is possible as individuals learn to move past roadblocks that hold them in unhealthy patterns.
I bring a compassionate approach to my practice and facilitate the healing of emotional wounds. Additionally, I help you develop tools and skills to help you access the hidden strengths that can assist you in creating a richer, more fulfilling life.
My areas of focus include assisting couples to find healing and restoration in their relationships, helping individuals struggling with complex issues such as depression, anxiety, stress-reduction and grief. I specialize in trauma-recovery for both adults and children utilizing proven strategies informed by brain neuroscience, to promote healing and resolution of the symptoms they are experiencing.
Additionally, I have a strong background in providing family therapy and counseling with children. As a therapist, I am committed to helping you discover and resolve the issues that are limiting your ability to find true and lasting life satisfaction.
I graduated with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University of Northridge. I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. My training also includes evidence-based Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy. As a trained trauma therapist, I utilize Cognitive Processing Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, incorporating Somatic and Trauma Resiliency.
Additionally, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy in treatment and have worked in a culturally sensitive way with individuals, sexual abuse survivors, older adults, veterans, domestic abuse survivors, families, teens and children. I have worked in faith-based settings for almost twenty years, so if faith is important to you, we can integrate it into the process as well.
