Why therapy, why now, and with whom? Finding a therapist can be confusing, anxiety provoking and stressful. There are many reasons why therapy might be right for you. Maybe you are struggling with anxiety, stress, grief, loss, depression, bipolar disorder, relationship problems, parenting difficulties, low self-esteem, behavior issues, and so on. Seeking therapy is a sign of courage, strength and hope. Right here and right now, you are saying, “I am hopeful that life can be better.”
My approach to therapy is to create a warm, caring, safe and confidential environment for you or your child, teen and family. I will provide you with new ways to look at your life, helpful methods to cope day-to-day, tools to improve relationships, and/or ways to understand and change problematic behaviors and thoughts.
I help teens, children, and adults improve relationships, and overcome anxiety, stress, trauma, and depression, so they can experience more joy and fulfillment in their lives.
I work with couples using the Gottman Method, which has research-based results.
I have a comprehensive background working with teenagers, including experience on Burbank High School campuses. When working with teens, I often collaborate with parents, schools, psychiatrists and pediatricians to optimize outcomes.
Before working in the field of Psychology, I spent fifteen years in the arts and seven years in corporate entertainment and technology. This experience enriches and increases my understanding of clients from many different lifestyles.
I work with clients in a collaborative manner using solution-oriented treatments including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). I am EMDR- trained, which is an effective intervention method that helps to decrease anxiety and disturbing thoughts, process traumatic experiences, and heal from emotional distress.
With Individual Therapy I help you realize your true potential and reach your goals. Together, we will identify and enhance your strengths, while modifying and changing problematic thoughts and behaviors. My belief is that change comes about through support and knowledge. In sessions, I adapt to your specific needs and can help free you from "chains" which can limit you in the areas of work, school, love, and relationships.
I graduated with a Master's in Clinical Psychology with Summa Cum Laude honors from Pepperdine University. I am a registered Marriage & Family Therapy Intern and Professional Clinical Counselor Intern.
Through therapy you can find ways to create a more satisfying and productive life.
Faith-Based Counseling: Christian
Christian counseling respects your personal beliefs and brings thoughtful consideration of your life philosophy founded in faith. Faith often provides a supportive and additive perspective for life's difficulties and challenges.
Christian counseling that appreciates your faith can increase your authentic self and connect you to a deeper meaning in everyday experiences. It may help you become aware of the importance of expressing your emotions and how bringing them to God provides an enriched understanding of your deepest needs. As a Christian counselor, I realize the importance of God in your process.
