I love being a witness to change. It is a powerful experience to see people in a moment of transformation and I am lucky I have the opportunity to see that through with you.
I would like you to know that I strongly believe that making a connection with my clients is important to help guide them through their toughest moments. I listen first, guide second. My goal is to make therapy comfortable and once we get the ball rolling, even have some fun.
Some of my specialties include working through trauma, couples' issues, communication, social skills and anger management. I provide therapy and lead groups with the intention of helping you learn something about yourself you may not have understood before coming in. I strive to create a relaxed environment so you can walk out feeling understood, motivated, and armed with a new skill to practice.
When I became a therapist nearly a decade ago, I knew I wanted to help people live better lives and work toward the life they envision for themselves. Whether working to overcome depression, anxiety, communication hurdles or relationship problems, the decision to seek help can be empowering. Through my experience in working with children, teens, adults, couples and families, I have learned about the power of people working together to create change.
This is how I discovered a love for group counseling. Participants might feel alone, scared and at times at their wits’ end. Admitting we are not at our happiest is difficult. In group therapy, or class format, I found that members experience emotional support, understanding and encouragement from one another in their toughest moments.
Deciding to make the smallest change in life can be intimidating but also liberating. I hope I can help make that decision easier for you.
